THE BIOGRAPHY
Valentin Martinov was born on January, 5, 1940 in the family of engineers in Yerevan.. His grandfather Joseph Ter - Astvatsaturjan was one of prominent hydrobuilders of Soviet Union. Under his leadership have been constructed the first hydroelectric power stations in Armenia and the Каnакir hydroelectric station in Armenia was called his name. His father - the deserved engineer of Armenia and honorary power- engineer of Soviet Union Vladimir Martinov has worked 55 years in a power grid of Armenia.
In 1946 Vаlentin Martinov has entered to the secondary school №20 in Yerevan, which he finished in 1956 with a medal.
In 1956 he has entered to the electrotechnical faculty on the Yerevan Polytechnical Institute of which has graduated from in 1961 on a profession line mathematical computers and their devices.. In the same year he has been directed for work to Yerevan Research Institute of Mathematical Machines in which he works till present time, in a different posts from the senior technician up to the chief of laboratory of reliability since 1974 and the main scientific employee since 1991.
In 1973 Valentin Martinov has defended the dissertation for receiving Candidate's degree of Technical Sciences (Ph. D.) on a theme “ Research of some questions of increase a reliability of operative memory ”
In 1980 Маrtinov has received the Certificate of status of the Senior Scientific Employee.
In 1991 he has defended the dissertation a for receiving the Doctor's scientific degree Technical Sciences. on a theme “ Methodological questions of increase a reliability of the computers and complexes of general and special proper purposes. ”.
Martinov repeatedly was appointed the supervisor of large number of research works. On a number of responsible themes of institute of mathematical machines (computer EC1046, computer complexes VK3M45, 65с170, 83т426 ) he carried out duties of the reliability consultant of the main designers
Valentine Martinov is the prominent expert on reliability problems of computer systems in Armenia, and the author over 90 scientific published works and inventions.
Since 1996 he is a member of the Specialized Advice 043 for receiving scientific degrees of Candidate's and Doctor's of technical sciences on fields: computer systems and programming, and since February 1998 he is appointed by the scientific secretary of this Advice.
In 1999 Dr Martinov was candidate for election to National Assembly of Republic of Armenia on the electoral district 46 from the Union of Socialist Forces and Intellectuals..
In 1999 Martinov was elected by the Academic Adviser in Academy of Engineering of Armenia.
In 2002 he was elected a academician in the Armenian Technological Academy, and since May, 2004 became a member of presidium of the Armenian Technological Academy.
Since 1992 for 1996 Dr Martinov teach in the Armenian Engineering University. Since 1996 till 2002 he was the professor of the Open University, and since 2000 he is the professor of faculty of applied mathematics and computer science of the Russian - Armenian (Slavonic) State University, where teaches and now.
Martinov . was repeatedly appointed chairman of the State board of examiners on faculty of a radio engineering and communication in Armenian Engineering University .
Martinov have a complete command: of Russian, Armenian, English and German languages
He is married. His Wife Marianna Ter-Vartanova of 1959 of a birth is the teacher of Russian language.
Daughter Elena Martynova of 1986 of a birth is the student of the Russian - Armenian (Slavonic) State University.
