Characteristics of the New Variety of Grapes “Gehani”

The description of the variety of vines at the age of 5 under hothouse conditions in Yerevan. It was exposed to testing on 40-year grape grown in private land in Aigestan.

The sprout is green; 18-20 cm the top is dark-green on sides with poor white and yellow tint and web-link nap. The leaves are light-green, slightly yellow except the teeth ends. The veins are very bright, dark-green. The leaf-stem is light-green. The axis is plane, light-green and yellow. The blossoming is medium-sized, compact, yellow and green of the cylindrical or cylindrical and cone shape.
During full ripening the sprout are red or red and brown, in knots-darker.

The leaf is medium-sized or coarse-grained, the length is 20, 7 cm, average width is 20,5 cm, round-shaped with 5 branches.

Lamina is dark green or green and yellow with poor brightness almost plane, in places it is wrinkled with blisters. The veins are green, from low side-light green and yellow, near the veins outcome – light wine- red. The last cuts are media and rare, closed by wide and almost without it.

The leaf stem is round, long in comparison with middle vein it is longer, yellow and green, in places light wine-red.

The blossom is doubled-hollowed; the number of stamens is 5-7. The seed is well vegetated, tubular-shaped with furrow, the pole is short, cylinder-shaped, plate-shaped.

The brunch is coarse-grained, average length is 22-25 cm; the width is 12-14 cm, cylinder-shaped, sometimes, cylinder and cone-shaped. The length of the brunch stem is 0, 5 1, 0 cm, yellow and green, disco-shaped with pad.

The fruit is coarse-grained; the length is 28-30 cm, the width – 15-20 cm, mainly long, in the shape of egg, dark-pink. The peel is moderately hard. It is difficult to separate it from the pulp, the taste is pleasant, the grape juice is colorless, the number of stones is 1-2. The seed is big and brown.

Agro biological Characteristics: The variety “Gehani-2” is appeared to be late-ripening grape. Full ripening of the variety is 160-165 days beginning from its buds. The buds appear in the 2-nd decade of April, and the beginning of blossom is at the end of May and early June.

The fruit bearing begins in early August and ripening lasts till the first decade of October. Vegetation is higher at the end of vegetation 80-85% of sprouts are ripened. The fruit-bearing sprouts constitute 60-65%. The number of bunches is 1, 5, coefficient of fertilization is 0,6-0,7. Average weight of the bunch is 300-350g. Productivity is higher. Approximately 250 centers can be taken from 1 ha. The berries are very sweet and moderately sour. In early October saccharin is reached to 23-24^% and activity – 4,0-4,8%. BY its nice bunches pleasant taste and harmony it can complete with other best local metropolitan grape variety.
